Catholic Student Ministry or CSM began in 1924, ministering to students from Texas Tech University, South Plains College and Lubbock Christian University. For 89 years students have come in and found a comminty. A community they can rely on, they find family in, they learn and grow through, and most importantly thrive in their spiritual relationship with God. Students have a wide variety of options in CSM, with 8 or more organizations that each promote spiritual growth in their own way, through sisterhood, brotherhood, co-ed involvement, peer leadership, community prayer, theological discussions and through further understanding of our faith. With so many students and weekly activities for them all to participate in, finanical support is needed alot of the time.

          Therefore about 11 years ago CSM began our now annual tradition of hosting Dinner Theater, our biggest fundraiser of the year. Providing a completely student run, created and organized event where the students truely earn the funds raised by our dinner and a show so to speak. Initially the CSM student interns choose a director and a play. They organize auditions and get the word out to the hundreds of students involved in the different ministires CSM provides. After choosing the play, director and cast members, the students begin practicing many months in advance. While the director leads the students in mastering the chosen play the interns are busy organizing the event and getting the word out to the rest of the community at large. After organizing everything, finding gracious donors and mastering the play our cast and crew are ready to put on a performance that is sure to have you and your family laughing out of your seat and smiling for weeks.

          Our biggest fundraiser, Dinner Theater, is always successful because of two reasons, the students who are willing to sacrafice and invest all the time and energy needed to do this right and you. The parishoner who is excited to experience a funny night out with friends and family. You the parishoner who remembers what life as a young adult was like. You the parishoner who wants to give back to their community and help out the students seeking nothing more than a spiritual comminty to emerse themselves in.
